Reaksi ini ditandai dengan berubahnya bilangan oksidasi pada proses elektrokimia.\u00a0Untuk menentukan definisi redoks, Sedulur harus memahami 3 konsep berikut.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pertama, berdasarkan O2. Reaksi reduksi adalah reaksi yang melepaskan O2, sedangkan reaksi oksidasi adalah reaksi yang menangkap O2.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Kedua, berdasarkan elektron. Reaksi reduksi adalah reaksi yang menangkap elektron, sedangkan reaksi oksidasi adalah reaksi yang melepas elektron.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ketiga, berdasarkan bilangan oksidasi. Reaksi reduksi adalah reaksi yang mengalami penurunan bilangan oksidasi, sedangkan reaksi oksidasi adalah reaksi yang mengalami kenaikan bilangan oksidasi.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dari ketiga konsep di atas, maka unsur yang mengalami reaksi oksidasi akan bertindak sebagai reduktor atau pereduksi. Berikut penjelasannya.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>1. Metode perubahan bilangan oksidasi<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Setarakan atom-atom yang mengalami perubahan biloks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tentukan biloks unsur-unsur tersebut dan tentukan perubahannya.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Samakan kedua perubahan biloks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tentukan jumlah muatan di ruas kiri dan kanan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Samakan muatan dengan cara, bila muatan di ruas kiri lebih negatif maka ditambahkan ion H+ sebanyak perbedaan muatan. Aturan penentuan bilangan oksidasi bisa Sedulur lihat di bawah ini.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> Bilangan oksidasi unsur bebas adalah 0. Contohnya, O2, Na, Cu, Ne, H2, dan Fe.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> Bilangan oksidasi ion monoatom dan poliatom sama dengan muatan ionnya. Contohnya, untuk ion monoatom Na+ dan Ca 2+ memiliki bilangan oksidasi berturut-turut +1 dan +2. Sementara untuk ion poliatom NH4+ dan PO4 3- memiliki bilangan oksidasi berturut-turut +1 dan -3.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bilangan oksidasi unsur golongan I A adalah +1 dan unsur golongan II A adalah +2.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> Bilangan oksidasi unsur golongan VI A pada senyawa biner adalah -2 dan unsur golongan VII A pada senyawa biner adalah -1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Atom H dalam senyawa mempunyai bilangan oksidasi +1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bilangan oksidasi H pada hidrida logam (NaH, BaH2, AlH3) sama dengan -1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bilangan oksidasi O pada peroksida (H2O2, Na2O2, BaO2) sama dengan -1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Bilangan oksidasi unsur O pada senyawanya -2, kecuali pada senyawa biner dengan F, bilangan oksidasi unsur O yaitu +2. <\/span>Contohnya, KO2 memiliki bilangan oksidasi dalam senyawa superoksida sebesar -1\/2.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Atom logam dalam senyawa akan mempunyai bilangan oksidasi positif.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jumlah bilangan oksidasi pada atom dalam senyawa sama dengan 0.
